People protesting the University of Alberta's potential financial ties to Israel, amid the conflict in the Middle East, were removed from their encampment early Saturday morning.

Police in riot gear early Friday morning cleared the pro-Palestinian encampment set up on Penn's campus in Philadelphia.

The protesters, who have remained peaceful, are part of a national movement on U.S. college campuses calling for universities to divest from entities benefitting from the war in Gaza.
